Junior Mileah Metcalf and sophomore Riley Hawkins both qualified to the state cross country meet next Saturday.
Metcalf finished the course in 19:35 to finish 22nd and Hawkins clocked in at 19:37 for 24th. The top 30 finishers at the Class 4 Section 3 meet held at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course on the MSSU campus qualified to advance.
"Mileah ran a great race and I'm really proud of her," Cardinals coach Dustin Miller said. "Riley didn't run her best, but she did enough to make it through."
Hawkins will compete at state for a second straight year.
