The Cardinals rode the success of their distance runners to propel them to a runner up finish at the sectional meet on Saturday.
Brooke Hedger grabbed gold in both the 800M, running a season best 2:14.45, and the 1600M, winning by four seconds in each of the events. Araceli Perez set a personal best of 11:26.58 and had a 10 second cushion as she crossed the finish line first in the 3200M.
The 4X800 relay team of Olivia Klotz, Alexis Shuster, Brooke Collard and Emma McKinzie set a new school record of 9:30.98, running away with a 25 second separation from the next finishers.
Another school record was set by the 4X400 team of Emmie Bulger, Chasney Brown, Skye Lofland and Brooke Hedger as they broke the 4 minute mark with a 3:59.89 in finishing second.
Noa Shewmake and Chemmy Ashe Purcell tied for silver as the both cleared 10' 2" in the pole vault.
The final state qualifier was Eva Davied with a fourth place finish, throwing the disc 36.00M.
Other athletes with point scoring finishes to help the team included Emma McKinzie and Jaylee VanBeceleare with fifth place finishes. Emma ran a personal best in the 800M, while Jaylee leapt 10.89M in the triple jump, just 3/4" from qualifying.
Chasney Brown, (100M), Tatym Buster (3200M) and Selah Shewmake (High Jump) each recorded sixth place finishes.
The Lady Cardinals totaled 91.5 points on the day finishing behind Ozark who recorded 119.
