#2 Peterson beat Norris in a tiebreak, 9-8 (7-3)
#3 Fisher lost to Vasquez 9-7.
#4 Reid lost to Kaufmann 8-0.
#5 Cox lost to Abigail Bremer 8-5.
#6 Gamez lost to Tinsley 8-0.

"We were up 2-1 after doubles, having played three hard-fought matches. That's a pretty good position to be in going into singles. Unfortunately, we struggled in those matches, only getting one W of the six. We've been having a hard time playing with consistency and aggressiveness in singles. I think the girls learned a lot tonight about why those two facets of the game are so important," head coach Stephany Pace said. "As for senior night, it was an emotional one as we honored six tremendous young ladies who mean so much to us and to this team. It's such a bittersweet night for sure."

The Lady Cards return to action Saturday at Joplin High School in the Varsity Duos tournament. Next week, Webb City is at home at 4:30 PM on Monday versus Monett and then travels to Willard on Tuesday with a 4:30 start.

Varsity travels to Fort Scott (Kan.) on Wednesday to makeup tournament play. Start time is 3 PM.
