JOPLIN, Mo. -- 10 teams competed in the annual Bird-Dog Classic Girls Tennis Tournament, and Webb City left with a 2nd place finish. Webb City finished with 9 points, just one point shy of 1st place Carl Junction. Monett finished 3rd with 7, followed by Lamar scoring 2, and Joplin & Carthage tied for 5th with 1 point each.

Results

Singles

#1s: Monett's Smith took first. CJ's Brooke Jasperson got second. Lamar's Morey finished 3rd, and Webb City's Aubrey Peterson placed 4th.

#2s: CJ's Olivia Bakos finished 1st. Laning from Monett was the runner-up. Webb City's Aranza Gamez placed third, and Harris from Lamar was 4th.

Doubles

#1s: Joplin's Reyes/Compton earned gold. Willard's Baxter/McNatt got second. Webb's Maecy Beverlin & Katelyn Cox finished third, and Carthage's Shelfer/Jewett got 4th.

#2s: Webb City's Lorelai Fisher/Sadae Reid were the champs. CJ's Hillard/Harris took second. Rogers/Robertson of Fusion finished third, and Joplin's Ramos/Curchin got 4th.
 
 
Webb City returns home Monday, September 22nd for a non-conference match against Clever.
