WEBB CITY, Mo. -- Webb City put on an offensive spectactle Thursday, shutting out McDonald County with an 8-0 victory.
Dakota DeGraffenreid led the offensive surge with a hat trick, scoring in the 10th, 13th, and 35th minutes. Avery Pogue added two goals of her own in the 17th and 25th minutes. Alex Maturino, Sammy Gallardo, and Lily Hall each found the back of the net to round out the scoring.
Webb City wasted no time setting the tone. They scored three goals within the first 13 minutes, and maintained control throughout the match. The team finished with 15 shots on goal compared to McDonald County's one.
Stephanie Cornelio and Aranza Gamez each contributed assists in the win.
Defensively, Webb City remained solid. Camille Nimmo recorded 1 save to secure the shutout. McDonald County goalkeeper Valeria Carbajal was kept busy throughout the match, finishing with seven saves.
With the win, Webb City improves to a 2-0 record. They look ahead to another home bout on Tuesday, March 31st. They kick off conference play against Nixa.
