Webb City finished 5th in district tournament, Haut & Cartwright qualify for state

BOLIVAR, Mo. -- Webb City left the Class 3 District 3 Tournament with a 5th place finish and a couple of state qualifiers. Brooklynn Cartwright and Violet Haut earned the chance to represent the Lady Cardinals Golf Team in the Class 3 State Championship. Haut, a sophomore, is representing the team for the second year in a row.

At districts, Haut finished in a 3rd place tie with 86 strokes. Cartwright finished 18th with 110 on her scorecard.

Clare Zahm finished 25th with 115 strokes, with Cassidy Collins finishing directly behind at 26th and 116 strokes. Irelynn Miles finished 39th with 127 on her scorecard.

"I am very proud of these girls and the season they've had," said head coach Jason Brown. "Clare Zahm is a senior who hadn't played before this year and made a big impact. Cassie Collins and Irelynn Miles, a sophomore and freshman, played crucial roles at different times to help the team make major strides in placings. They are hungry to play in the state tournament and will be returning with some pressure with district experience next year."

The Class 3 State Tournament will be at Joplin's Twin Hills October 20th and 21st. Tee time is at 8:30 AM.
