Violet Haut finishes 48th in Class 3 State Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Freshman Violet Haut wrapped up the girl's golf season today at the Class 3 State Championship. Haut finished in 48th place out of 90 participants. She had the best placing out of the other local schools in Carl Junction and McDonald County in Class 3.

On Day 1, Haut finished with a round of 90 on the scorecard, placing 34th.

On Day 2, the wind played a factor with Haut shooting an even 100 on the day. She finished the tournament with a two day total of 190, good enough for a 48th place finish.

On the local level, Carl Junction's Olivia Teeter finished in 59th with a total score of 200. Also among the Bulldogs. Lyric Rayne Belcher placed 74th with 210 and Addison Teeter finished 75th with 213.

McDonald County's sole player Samantha Dowd finished in 76th with 214 points.

Glendale took the state title, scoring a combined 671 points.

Cardinals Girl's Golf Coach Jason Brown says Haut is excited to return next year and compete.
