Madeline Hayes poured in 30 points, and Webb City rode a big fourth quarter to defeat Willard 74-66 Tuesday night in Central Ozark Conference girls basketball action inside the Cardinal Dome.
The Cardinals trailed 4846 after three quarters but outscored the Tigers 28-18 in the final eight minutes behind nine points from Abby Brownfield and 13 made free throws. Webb City attempted only eight free throws in the first three quarters, making six, and went 19-of-33 from the line for the game.
Hayes, 5-foot-5 senior, scored 15 points in each half, headlined by a big second quarter with 13 points. She wound up with four 3-point goals among her nine field goals and sank 8-of-9 free throws.
Darcy Darnell popped in three treys while scoring 16 points — nine in the second half — for Webb City, and Brownfield finished with 11.
