The Lady Cardinals season ends with a 47-43 loss in the championship game of the district tournament.
The Tigers scored the first four points of the game, but Mikaela Burgess reeled off eight consective points to take the lead and the first quarter closed with Webb City leading 12-10. Webb City was outscored 15-10 in the second quarter, going to halftime with a 25-22 deficit.
The Cardinals started the second half on a 7-1 run and built a six point lead as Lacy Resa scored on back to back possessions and the third quarter ended with Webb City leading 36-33.
The Tigers were able to knot the score at 38 early in the fourth quarter, before Resa scored with a little more than 2 minutes left in the game and a 42-40 lead. The Cardinals held the ball and was able to run time off the clock, but as the Tigers were forced to foul, Webb City was unable to convert free throws into points. Carthage finally tied the scored with 26 seconds left in the game and were able to take the lead with free throws and controlling the rebounds in the games final seconds.
Burgess led the scoring with 20 points. Gabbie Gannaway scored 8 in her final game and Kaitlin Beason and Resa each added six.
The Cardinals finish the season with a 15-13 record.
