The Webb City girls stormed back to defeat Nevada in overtime of a nonconference game at WCHS.
The Tigers led 18-6 in the first quarter, and continued to hold the lead into the third until the Cardinals went on a 20-9 run to take a 47-40 advantage into the fourth. Webb City's Megan Heman scored 10 of her 12 points in the game during a five minute stretch through the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarters.
Webb City (12-11) later led by four points entering the final minute of regulation, but the Tigers rallied to tie the game and send it to ovetime. There the Cardinals took control.
"I thought we had really good movement in the second half, made a push there and went on a run," Cardinals coach Brad Shorter said. "We took care of the ball late in the game, and I'm really proud of the kids and the way they battled."
The Cardinals are scheduled to play at Carthage in a makeup contest at 6 p.m. today.
