Senior Peyton Rogers drove in the go ahead run in her final at bat at home to secure a 7-5 win over Nevada.
Rogers led off the first inning by drawing a walk and advancing to third on wild pitches before scoring on a Renae Gillmore ground out to tie the score at one. She reached again in the third with a walk and scored when senior Emily Harris singled to left center later in the inning.
Webb city added two more in the fourth as Ashley Alexander walked to open the inning, advancing to third on a Bri Nichols sacrifice and stopping at third on Kaylee Cristy single. Ashley Allgood scored both of them with a double over the center fielders head and the Cardinals led 4-1.
Nevada took the lead scoring four runs on four hits and one Cardinal error in the fifth as they chased starter Addy Darby before Allgood took over and secured the final out.
The Lady Cardinals responded in the bottom of the sixth. Alexander and Nichols walked to start the inning. Cristy replaced Alexander on the base path after grouding into a force out. After a strikeout, Rogers then delivered, hitting the first pitch to right field and driving in both runs. She later scored on a Mareika Turpen single for the final run.
Rogers finished the day reaching base and scoring three times. Allgood picked up the win in the relief.
The Cardinals will play in the Carthage tournament over the weekend before beginning district play next week. The are seeded third in the Class 4 District 12 tournament and will face Neosho on Wednesday.
