Late inning rally leads Cardinals to victory

The Lady Cardinals, falling behind 12-3, scores the next 10 runs to win 13-12 on the final home game of the year.

Emily Harris lead the Cardinals 16 hit attack with three home-runs and drove in seven.  The first of the blasts to left field gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead and Desirea Buerge singled and scored on a wild pitch in the first inning.  

McDonald County scored 7 in the top of the second and another 5 in the top of the fifth to take a commanding 12-3 lead.

Webb City answered with 5 of the own in the bottom of the fifth.  Mariah Newby reached on an error to open the frame followed by a Mareika Turpen single.  Harris then drilled a three run shot to left.  Peyton Rogers and Katy Crane scored later in the inning to close the deficit to 12-8.  

Harris answered again in the sixth with a two run blast, driving in Turpen, who had doubled.  

Chesnie Philpot lead off the bottom of the seventh with a walk and Addie Darby singled.  Ashley Alexander drove them in with a double to left center to tie the game.  Faith Holcomb singled and the Mustangs walked Harris to load the bases with only one out.  Buerge ended the game with a sharp single.  

Emily Harris ended a perfect day at the plate, going 4-4 with a intentional walk.  Turpen added three hits, including a double and scored three runs.  

Amy Morris, the third pitcher of the game, earned the victory with 2 and 1/3 innings of no-hit  relief, striking out four.

The Lady Cardinals are schedule to play at Carthage on Wednesday and Nevada on Thursday.
