Webb City, allowing 3 runs in the top of the seventh, fell to Neosho 8-7 at home on Tuesday.
The Cardinals jumped out to an early 5-0, scoring three in the first and two more in the second. Mareika Turpen walked, advancing to third on wild pitches, and scored on a Desirea Buerge single. Emily Harris doubled to left, driving in Buerge and Peyton Rogers scored Harris with a two out single. In the second, Webb City took advantage of three Wildcat errors to score their two runs. Mariah Newby, reached on a errant throw from the pitcher, and continued to on to second base as Katy Crane scored. The Wildcats then threw the ball into a vacated left field and Newby scampered on home.
The Wildcats trimmed the lead with a four run third inning. Neosho collected six consecutive base hits in the inning.
Webb City received solo blasts from Harris in the third and Crane in the sixth to extend the Cardinal lead.
Neosho was able to score three times in seventh on three hits and were helped out with 2 Cardinal errors.
The Cardinals recived two hits each from Turpen and Harris.
Webb City will travel to Carthage on Thursday and then to Kansas City this weekend for the Blue Springs tournament
