Kneib throws no hitter

The Lady Cardinals defeated Carthage 6-0 on Tuesday in the final regular season game.  The Cardinals end the regular season with a conference record of 7-0 and 26-1 overall.

Laney Kneib held the Tigers hitless, striking out nine and only allowing a fifth inning walk.   

Kaitlin Beason finished the day a perfect 4-4, with a double, two runs batted in and three runs scored to lead the offense.  Shelby Stuck delivered three hits, including a double.  

Webb City scored in the first inning as Callie Beaver led the game off with a double, moving to third on a passed ball and scoring on the first of Beason hits.  They added two more in the second with Morgan Coleman reaching on a two hit single, before Beason drove her home with a double off the centerfield fence.  Alexah Replogle promptly delivered a run scoring single to score Beason and the Cardinals led 3-0 after three innings.

The Cardinals scored twice more in the fifth with back to back singles by Morgan Coleman and Beason, a sacrifice fly from Replogle, and Stuck driving in the second run with a single to right.   Chelsi Smith drove in the final run in the seventh.

The Cardinals head into district play, with their first game scheduled for Thursday.  They earned the #1 seed and will play the winner of the Republic/Neosho game at 5:00.  A tournament bracket can be found by clicking HERE
