WEBB CITY, Mo. -- Cardinals Tennis came up short of a final home game victory in their regular season. Webb City fell to Nixa 8-1, dropping their overall record to 5-6.
Results:
1Doubles: seniors Justice Bonnow (1)/Jayden Bowker (2) beat juniors Andrew Davis/Wyatt Hasson 8-5.
2Doubles: seniors Gio Paparelli (4)/Anthony Stump (6) lost to sophomore Spencer Rinne/senior Wilson Koenig 8-1.
3Doubles: senior Oliver Bollin (5)/sophomore Yadi Martinez (8) lost to juniors Lyle Fulnecky/Parker Walden 8-2.
1Singles: Bonnow lost 8-5 to Davis.
2Singles: Bowker lost 8-0 to Hasson.
3Singles: Paparelli lost 8-4 to Rinne.
4Singles: Bollin lost 8-6 to Fulnecky.
5Singles: Stump lost 8-3 to Walden.
6Singles: Martinez 8-3 to Koenig.
"Nixa's tough. They're just tough. They're a tough last match for our JV guys, and we're sad that they're done for the season now," assistant coach Dean Derryberry said. "Our guys played hard, though, and everyone has improved so much. The Varsity guys played hard, too."
Next up for the Cardinals is to co-host the Bird-Dog Classic with Carl Junction at the Joplin Athletic Complex Friday, April 24.
