On Thursday, Webb City hosted its first full-roster home match against Republic. 

 

Varsity results:

1D- seniors Justice Bonnow (1)/Jayden Bowker (2) lost to sophomore Lucas Riffe (1)/junior Raymond DeVries 8-6.

2D- seniors Ryder Stuart (3)/Oliver Bollin (5) lost to seniors Nathan Henry (2)/Nevan Kulp (4) 8-2.

3D- senior Anthony Stump (6)/junior Isaac Shipley (7) lost to juniors Kaden Fisher (6)/Robert Linn (9) 8-4.

 

1S- Bonnow lost to Riffe 8-0.

2S- Bowker lost to Henry 8-3.

3S- Stuart lost to DeVries 9-7.

4S- senior Giorgio Paparelli beat Kulp 8-5.

5S- Bollin lost to Fisher 8-5.

6S- Stump beat sophomore Austin Helm 8-4.

 

"It was a tough night. In three different varsity matches, we were up 5-2 and couldn't finish with the win. That turned what should have been a 5-4 win into a 7-2 loss. Republic is always solid, so we're proud of our guys but know we need to work on closing things out," head coach Stephany Pace said. "It was an important night because our guys learned just how good they really are. We'll take that knowledge and use it as fuel moving forward."
