The Cardinals Boys Tennis team split a pair of games Thursday against Joplin and Carl Junction. The team moved to a 1-1 record on the season.
Webb City vs. Carl Junction (W 8-3)
Webb City defeated Carl Junction in match play, 6-3, to begin their season. In doubles play, Webb City's #1 duo of Alex Stanley and Lester Pascua medically forfeited to Carl Junction's Alex Schneickert and Hayden Wilkerson after going up 4-0.
In #2 doubles, the Cardinals' Easton McDonald and Cameron Stone came from behind to beat the Bulldogs' Josh Frakes and Daniel Rice 8-6.
Webb's Justice Bonnow & Jayden Bowker beat CJ's Sayre Sundy and Jacoby Bailey 8-0 to round out doubles at the #3 slot.
In singles, Webb City won at #1, #4, #5, and #6.
#1 Stanley beat Schneickert 8-2, #4 Bonnow beat Rice 8-4, #5 Bowker beat Sunday 8-2, and #6 Stone beat Bailey 8-4.
CJ's singles wins came at #2 with Wilkerson defeating McDonald 8-0 and #3 Frakes winning 8-6 over Pascua.
The win brought Webb's season record to 1-0.
