WEBB CITY, Mo. -- The final home game of the regular season for the Webb City Boys Soccer Team ended in the worst way they'd like to expect it. The Cardinals fell to Neosho in the last minute of regulation 2-1.
Webb City had a couple of shots on goal in the first half, but neither team was able to break through before the break.
The first goal came in the 61st minute. Sebastian Aldrete chest bumped the ball into the net off the Caetano Davila assist. That put Webb City up 1-0.
Neosho struck back in the 67th minute.
In what seemed like a sure thing the game would go into extra time, disaster struck for the Cardinals. With chaos at the goal, a Wildcat was able to strike the ball into the net in the 80th minute.
Webb City nearly had the last second goal to tie things up, but time expired after the blocked shot.
The teams overall record falls to 5-13. They travel to Joplin Tuesday, October 28th for their regular season finale.
