Ben Starkey shot a 2 under 68 in claiming the Class 3 sectional at Marshfield Country Club.
Alex Kanakis shot an 81 followed by Dustin Davis with an 83.
Starkey had a memorable round which could have three or four
strokes better, said Webb City golf coach Wayne Smith.
“Ben said he hit 14 fairways,” Smith said. “Kris
Flood (Republic coach who made the round with Starkey’s
group) said he could have easily shot 65 or 64, that he missed some
short birdie putts.”
He will advance to the state round to be May 16-17 at Silo Ridge in Bolivar.
