The Cardinals took early control in their home opener and ran off to a 96-29 win over the Mustangs.
Six points each for Holden Johnson and Rylan Houston was followed up by a three from Hudson Matthiesen as the Cardinals built a 15-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Webb City had scored half of their season average as the first quarter came to a close as they led 30-8.
The beginning of the second quarter was more of the same as they outscored McDonald County 22-1, Trae Turner netting nine of those points. A three pointer as the half ended from Matthiesen pushed the Cardinal lead to 62-15.
Webb City outscored the Mustangs 19-12 in the third quarter and then with a running clock limited the Mustangs to only a pair of free throws in the fourth with Webb scoring the final 12 points.
Seven different players scored double figures; Matthiesen 15, Grayson Smith 15, Trae Turner 14, Holden Johnson 13, Jackson Adams 11, with Rylan Houston and Carson Anderson at 10.
The 96 points were the most scored in the Dome by the Cardinals and the most since 2022 in any game. It also ties for the 10th best scoring output in program history. The 67 point margin of victory is the largest since a 49 point win in 2019.
