The Cardinalsscored at least 23 points in each of the first three quarters before settling for a 47-point win over Wichita Independent on Thursday in the first round of the Kansas National Guard Invitational at Frontenac.

The Cardinals took a 53-26 lead into halftime and went on to outscore Wichita 40-20 in the second half. Cohl Vaden paced the scoring with a game-high 23 points while Alex Gaskill chipped in 22 points.

Both Vaden and Gaskill made three 3-pointers.

Webb City plays Providence Academy today at 7.
