The Cardinals opened the 2018 season with a 42-9 victory at home on Friday night.
Webb City, after receiving the opening kickoff, scored on their first drive of the year. Devrin Weathers finished the 12 play, 80 yard drive with a 9 yard touchdown run.
After turnovers on consecutive drives, the Cardinals found themselves trailing 9-7 early in the second quarter. Two touchdowns runs from quarterback Cade Beason pushed the Cardinals back in front 21-9 at the end of the first half.
Scoring on three of their first four drives in the second half finished the scoring for the Cardinals
Durand Henderson and Beason, both rushing for over 100 yards, helped the Cardinals offense ground attack to over 300 total rushing yards. Alex Gaskill (35 yards) and Henderson (20 yards) each caugtht a pass on the evening.
Sam Thomas, credited with 10 tackles, helped the defense limit the Bulldogs to only 113 rushing yards.
Webb City will travel to Joplin next Friday night.
