The Cardinals marched their way into the state sem-finals with a 24-0 win over Harrisonville.
An interception by Dakota Wynn gave the Cardinals the ball on their own 10 yard line to begin their second possession. Webb City went the lenghth of the field in eighteen plays to score the first points of the game. A fourteen yard end around pass from Alex Gaskill to Jacob Monroe put the Cardinals ahaed 7-0.
The Wildcats threatened in the final minute of the first half, but were turned away when the defense forced a fumble recovered by Brenyn Surber.
The defense forced another Wildcat fumbe on the first play of the second half, recovered by Blake Peterson on the Harrisonville twenty three yard line.
Four plays later Durand Henderson found the end zone on a counter play to give the Cardinals a 14-0 lead less than two minutes into the third quarter.
Javis Berlin recovered a third Wildcat fumble at midfield to end the next Harrisonville drive.
Sergio Perez kicked a twenty two yard field goal to finish the thirteen play drive and a 17-0 lead.
A fourth consecutive Wildcat fumble on the kickoff was recoverd by the Cardinals at the thirty seven yard line.
After picking up a yard on the first play, Will Larson caught the Wildcat secondary napping with a halfback pass to a Alex Gaskill for a touchdown and a 24-0 lead with less than a minute to play in the third quarter.
The Cardinals will host the Platte County Pirates in the Class 4 semi-finals. Game time is still to be determined.
