Webb City captured their fourth consecutive and 12th overall championship with a 28-14 victory over the Crusaders of Helias.

Helias took the opening kickoff and raced down the field to open the scoring and a quick 7-0 lead.  The offense suffered a turnover and gave the ball right back to the Crusaders at midfield.  The defense then swarmed the Helias offense and pushed them all the way back to their own twenty one and a fourth and forty seven.

The offense took over on the Helias forty three yard line and pushed their way down the field in only seven plays and Trey Parra scored from the one yard line on fourth down.  Tyler Davison broke off carries of sixteen and twelve yards on the drive.  A missed extra point left the score 7-6.

A game that looked like a offensive shootout then turned into a defensive struggle.  Each team exchanged punts, and a Helias punt pinned the Cardinals at their own seven yard line as the second quarter began.

A loss on the first play put the offense back at the three.  Devin Pickett picked up seven yards out to the ten and Parra gained 17 yards on a draw play on third down to get the offense away from their goal line.  The offense then stalled and on fourth and one at their own 36, but Webb City had a surprise for the Crusaders.  In punt formation, Parra took the direct snap and ran twenty seven yards into Helias territory and a first down.  Four plays later, the Cardinals called on Kiante Hardin and an end around to score from sixteen yards away and took a 14-7 lead.

The defense led the way for the rest of the half.  Tayler Arterburn had a huge sack to put an end to the next Crusader series.  On the next series, defensive lineman Connor Badgley followed the running back out of the backfield and intercepted the intended screen pass.

Early in the fourth quarter, Helias was able to tie the game at 14.

Hardin returned the next kickoff about 65 yards inside the twenty yard line.  Picket carried for six yards, Davison for two and Parra three yards to put the ball at the eight.  Parra scored on the next play, as the offensive line opened a huge hole on a counter play to the right side.

The Crusades were driving toward a possible score to tie the game when the defense stuffed a fourth and inches to give the offense the ball at midfield.  After two carries resulted in a third and two, Helias stacked their linebackers near the line of scrimmage.  Parra was able to to bust throught  the line of scrimmage and scampered 45 yards to the endzone.  An extra point from Nathan Gooch put the Cardinals up 28-14 with a little over three minutes left in the game.

Hardin put an end to the final Crusader drive with an interception.

Webb City finishes the season at 14-1.
