Cardinals shutout Willard

The Cardinals traveled to Willard and came home with a 41-0 victory.

The defense forced the Tigers to punt four times in the first half and intercepted two passes in not allowing them across midfield.  The offense scored on four of its five possessions in building a 27-0 lead.

The offenses first drive covered 60 yards in only 8 plays as Phoenix Johnson followed a block from Kohl Slaughter into the end zone from 14 yards.  The Cardinals failed to convert the extra point as they tried for two after a Tiger penalty and led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Breckin Williams scored the next touchdown from seven yards out.  A Klay James interception set the offense up at the Tiger 20 yard line and Jamison Cady covered the last 7 yards and a 20-0 lead with 4:30 left in the half.

The defense once again held the Tigers to a three and out and took over at midfield.  Williams found Jarvis Jones behind the defense for a 50 yard touchdown throw and catch.

The second half began with the offense scoring on the first possession as Williams once again found Jones from 29 yards out.

The final score was provided by John Roderique throwing a five yard touchdown pass to Kohl Slaughter.

Klay James, Austin White and Nate Brown each intercepted a Willard pass.

The Cardinals travel to Branson next Friday to continue confernce play.
