An offensive outburst from both squads resulted in 23 total runs on 21 total hits over a three hour game.
Prospect and Webb City matched each other single runs in each of the first two innings. A two run third gave the Knights a 4-2 lead, but the Cardinals did one better in the bottom of the inning as the took a brief 5-4 lead. It was six run uprising by the Knights in the top of fourth that put the Cardinals down 10-5. It was at that point the Knights quit scoring and the Cardinals began their comeback.
Webb City clawed back two in the bottom of the fourth and then put up three more in the fifth to tie it. The runs scoring on a bases loaded double from Trevor Lofland, who then came around to score on an error.
The Cardinals got on top in the sixth inning, scoring three runs on only one hit. Karsen Myers reach on a walk moving up to second on sac bunt from Konnor Hood and then to third on a grounder back to the mound. With two outs, Dawson McMullen was hit by a pitch and promptly stole second. Mason Williams then delivered the decisive base hit scoring Myers. After Lake Johnson was awarded first on catchers interference, a bases loaded walk to Lofland drove in the second run and then wild pitch on a strike out scored the final run.
Chayse Denton earned the win, throwing the final 3.1 innings holding the Knights scoreless.
