The Cardinals checked the box on several keys earning a 7-1 win over Ozark. Offense, check. Webb City pounded out 11 hits including two out hits, two strike hits, produced a big inning and scored in multiple innings. Pitching, check. A complete game from Landon Fletcher. Defensively, check. Cleanly played, the only miscue a slip on wet ball that produced no harm.
Five different Cardinals recorded two hits on the day. Andrew Young got the scoring started with a solo homer to right to lead off the Webb City first inning. With two outs in the third, five consecutive hitters reached safely as the Cardinals put two more on the board. A single run in the fourth was followed by three insurance runs in the sixth.
Brock Renfro was 2-4, driving in three runs. Andrew Young, Mason Young, Luke Beverlin and Brody Eggleston also recorded two hits. Andrew Young scored three times.
Landon Fletcher went the distance, scattering six hits while striking out four in the complete game win.
The Cardinals move to 12-11 on the season and finish 5-2 against the East division of the COC. They will be at Neosho on Thursday night.
