Cardinals open season with win

Webb City opened the 2025 season with a 8-1 win over Farmington AR.  

The Cardinals got plenty of production from the top of the their order as the first three hitters in the lineup were a combined 8-12.  Karsen Myers, leading off, went 3-4 including a double to lead off the first inning.  Mason Williams was solid 3-4 with Brock Renfro finishing 2-4.

Webb City got the scoring started in the first inning.  Myers lead off double was followed by a Williams single.  Brock Renfro drove in the first run with an rbi ground out.  

Myers drove in the second inning run with a single off the pitcher allowing Cohen Epler to scamper home.  

Webb City put up three more in the fourth.  Brody Eggleston and Cohen Epler reached on consecutive errors by Farmington to open the frame.  Two outs later, three base hits in a row from the top three knocked in the runs.  Three more runs in the sixth pushed the lead to 8-1.

Luke Beverlin got the start and pitched into the fourth inning, allowing only one run on two hits while striking out six.  Coming out due to a team imposed early season pitch count, he was followed up by Chayse Denton and Braden Strickland.

The Cardinals will be on the road tomorrow morning with a 9:00 start at Logan Rogersville.
