Webb City, behind a strong pitching performance from Tyler Martin, defeated McDonald County 2-1 at home on Wednesday.
Martin struck out fifteen, allowing only a sixth inning double and an unearned run in the complete game victory.
Manuel Peskar scored both of the Cardinal runs. Leading off the first inning with a walk he stole second and scored on a two-out infield single from Matt Duley. He scored the second run in the fifth inning after being hit by a pitch with two outs. Bryson Mathews moved him to third with a base hit to right, and then he scampered home on a Mustang wild pitch.
The Cardinals (8-2) will travel to Ft Scott for a weekend tournament before returning home for three games next week.
