Calem Nutting throws no hitter

Calem Nutting held the Willard Tigers hitless on Tuesday afternoon as the Cardinals earned a 1-0 conference victory.

Nutting struck out three and ony walked two batters in the complete game win.  The defense was flawless to support the pitching effort.

Webb City socred its only run in the third inning.  Andrew Greek lined an 0-2 pitch into left field to open the inning.  Kolesen Crane laid down a sacrifice bunt toward third base and was thrown out, but Greek caught the defense by surprise and continued on to third when the Tigers failed to cover the base.  Colton Adams delivered a single to left to drive in Greek with the only run of the game.

Dack Sanborn had the only other hit for the Cardinals with a sixth inning double.  Tyler Davison was the only batter to reach base twice, drawing walks in both the fourth and the sixth.

The Cardinals will travel face Colgan tomorrow and then visits Ozark on Thursday.
