Webb City drops final home game

Webb City played its final regualar season home game on Tuesday, as they celebrated senior night.  

The Cardinals were able to comeback from an early 4-0 deficit to tie the game, but a big inning from the Wildcats ultimately was to much to overcome.

Cade Crouch doubled and scored on a Kyle Baldassarre ground ball for the first Webb City run in the second inning.  In the third, Kolten Potts led off with a singlea and moved up on a sacrifice bunt from Mason Williams. After Tyler Davison drew a walk, Austin Carter drove in the first run with a single to right and Davison scored a few pitches later on a Neosho wild pitch.  

Carter tied the game in the fifth after reaching on his second hit of the game, he was able to score another Wildcat wild pitch.  Neosho was able to score five times in the sixth to retake the lead.  The Cardinals tried to mount a seventh inning rally as Crouch and Andrew Greek each singled with one out, but an game ending double play left the Cardinals with a 9-4 loss.

Joseph Jones pitched the first two inning, allowing four runs on four hits.  Derick Newby was tagged with the loss.  He only allowed one run over three innnings of work.  Trenton Moeller pitched the sixth inning and Colten Adams the seventh.

Crouch, Carter and Potts each finished the day with two hits each and a run scored.

The Cardinals have three games on the road to finish the season before district action begins.  Webb City will host the district tournament beginning Saturday, May 17th.
