Webb City, scoring runs in each of the first four innings, defeated Republic 6-0 at home in their Central Ozarks Conference opener.
Austin White turned a one out walk, stolen base and an error by Republic on Gage Belcher's fly to right field into a first inning run.
First baseman Seth Watkins, doubled to lead off the second inning and moved to third on a Carson Powell single to right. Andrew McDaniel deliverd an RBI infield single and when the throw was mishandled by the Tiger first baseman, Powell also scored moving the score to 3-0.
Breckin Williams reached on an error to start the Cardinal third inning. After Belcher reaced on a fielders choice, Richie Peoples moved them up with a sac bunt. Watkins beat out an infield single to score Williams.
Klay James hustled a run in fourth inning. After delivering a one hit single to left, he rounded second and continued on to third on a ground ball out. The throw from the first baseman was not handled by the third baseman and James continued on home, extending the lead to 5-0 after four innings.
Gage Belcher picked up the complete game win, scattering four hits.
Seth Watkins was a perfect 3-3 on the day with a double. James, Powell and McDaniel picked up the other Cardinal hits.
The Cardinals will entertain Neosho on Thursday afternoon.
The junior varsity picked up a win 12-2 win in six innings.
