The Cardinals advanced to the district finals with a 10-4 victory over the Carl Junction Bulldogs.
A seven run first inning started the game for the Cardinals. Scott Roderique andBreckin Williams started with singles and Tyler Burgess followed with a run-scoring single to put the Cardinals on the board. Nathan Ervin drove home the second run with a sac fly. Gage Belcher walked and Klay James singled to right to load the bases. Derek Mann drove in a run and reached on the error. Richie Peoples then drove in two runs with a single back up the middle and scored the final run of the inning on a Roderique double as Webb City batted around.
The Cardinals then scored single runs in the second, third and sixth inning. Burgess led the way with three hits on the day.
Breckin Williams and Derek Mann combined on the pitching duties.
The Cardinals will now face the winner of the Joplin/Willard matchup on Tuesday at 6:00.
